What is Obesity?

Obesity, we all know it when we see it. But what categorizes someone as obese? You may be surprised to find out many people you know fall under the definition of obese. Today in America over 65% of the population is considered to be obese, that's approximately 51 million citizens. If gone unchecked, obesity can be a deadly disease, claiming 300,000 deaths in the United States per year. Unfortunately the obesity trend continues to grow yearly with no downward trend in sight. Although these true statistics can seem overwhelming, all of us at Portion Doctor have committed our company to making a difference. We believe that through education and changing people's eating habits we can make a difference.
